ABOUT OUR WINES
The Varietals
Red Blend
Typically sourced from our friends and colleagues vineyards in the heart of wine country and always organic. Every version flips the script by blending familiar varieties with unusual varieties. You’ll find percentages of inky Syrah layered on top of tannic Cabernet, juicy Merlot, and sometimes Viognier or Muscat Canelli. Enjoy these blended red wines with salmon, or lightly smoked, barbecued, or roasted food. The wines are always aged for 20 months or more in a mix of French and American oak.
Rose
Always made in the Saignée style, ‘bleeding off’ the unfermented pink grape juice from the full tank of fresh grapes, then cold fermented in stainless steel and quickly racked back to neutral oak barrels for settling; all resulting in a wine that is dark pink in color, crisp and fruit forward; perfect for warm sunny afternoons and summer poolside dining. Drink well chilled, and don’t be afraid to put an ice-cube right into your glass!
White
On occasion, we’ll make a white wine – when we are offered the right grapes and we have the capacity in the winery. And on occasion, we might be featuring our friend’s brands as well.
Port
When conditions are right, look for our rare vintage-date Port wine.
Boldly defying wine branding convention and in a humorous contrarian twist – ours is a simple premise – we take our wine seriously, but not ourselves.
We named this brand after all of our wonderful families – happily, humorously, proudly Dysfunctional.
